Remember that time when Barack Obama was distancing himself from the 2020 election?
Heck, it took him months just to endorse his former VP Joe Biden.
Well, things have changed with Obama. Now the former president is diving head first into the 2020 election in a very big way!
According to report from the Associated Press, Obama is working directly with Biden to help his former VP gain some fundraising ground against President Trump.
Obama announced on Twitter that he and Biden will appear together next Tuesday for a “virtual grassroots fundraiser,” It will be the first time the two have appeared together since Obama endorsed Biden in April.
Biden’s tweet linked to a campaign fundraising page and to a form for those who want to ask a question of the two Democrats.
The Obama announcement came hours after Biden said that his campaign and associated Democratic groups had raised $81 million in May — his strongest-ever fundraising effort.
But Trump has consistently out-fundraised Biden. Trump’s campaign war chest “dwarfs” that of Biden. The president has constructed a fundraising behemoth over the last three years, and have a reported $255 million in cash.
By comparison, Biden’s campaign has approximately $100 million available.
So, will Obama be enough to give the Biden team a push it needs? They have a long way to go to catch Trump!
