My Top and Bottom Stocks as Geopolitical Tensions Rise

by | Aug 2, 2022 | Market Updates

The broader indexes slipped lower as tensions rise ahead of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan — and more in Tuesday’s stock market recap.

Relations have been tense between China and Taiwan in recent years, and Beijing warned Pelosi against visiting the self-governed island.

In earnings season news, both BP p.l.c. (NYSE: BP) and Devon Energy Corp. (NYSE: DVN) beat on earnings per share and revenue estimates, and raised their dividend payouts.

Meanwhile, traders await more reports from companies like Starbucks Corp. (Nasdaq: SBUX), PayPal Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: PYPL) and Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (Nasdaq: AMD).

A lot of eyes are on AMD as tech stocks look to be slipping.

In this morning’s stock market recap video, I’ll reveal what’s driving consumer and tech stocks… the biggest earnings of the week… why resistance from May is crucial right now… an update on the Fed’s data and what to expect later this week… which stocks and sectors to avoid, and which ones are set up for upside gains… plus the top stocks I’m watching right now.

P.S. This New Indicator Is Causing a Big Stir

What Lance Ippolito and his New Money Crew team have been working on is nothing short of incredible… It’s something totally different from anything he’s EVER done before.

It has nothing to do with option flow or insider buying, and it’s not a new trade alert service… Instead, it’s a brand-new indicator he’s been working on for years that he’s never shared before.

He thinks it could be a major asset for folks looking to survive — and even thrive — in 2022 and beyond.

And Lance just went LIVE to reveal all the details behind this incredible indicator…

99 Problems and a “Pivot” is One

A friend of mine sent me this chart about three months ago. I should probably print it and keep it in my wallet next to a photo of my daughter. Given the sheer number of questions I’ve fielded lately, I’ll probably end up showing this chart more than her picture.

Everything Everywhere, Going Down, All At Once

When our momentum reading went negative last week, I didn’t know that we’d have the second largest bank failure in U.S. history three days later. All I knew was that it went negative… and that we got out of the way.
