Markets absolutely SKYROCKETED today after inflation came in lower than expected.
The Consumer Price Index showed month-over-month inflation of 0.4% versus expectations of 0.6%. Excluding food and energy prices — which are more volatile — inflation grew 0.3% month over month versus expectations of 0.5%.
And boy did the market love that news…
The Nasdaq 100 jumped 6.5% higher, while the boring ol’ S&P 500 rallied 5%. This is the biggest up day we’ve seen since 2020!
