In Tuesday’s Blitz Daily, we take a look at apparel company VF as shares continue a run higher with help from hit international TV series, “Squid Game.”
Yes, you read that right. You might not be familiar with VF, but chances are you’ve seen their merchandise in stores and on the street. In addition to their popular outdoor apparel brands The North Face and Timberland, the company makes two well-established streetwear brands, Supreme and Vans.
The Vans brand in particular is catching a lot of attention thanks to a featured spot in “Squid Game” — the surprise hit Korean TV show syndicated by Netflix. Since the show was released internationally, sales of the white slip-on Vans worn by the show’s characters jumped by 7,800% according to Variety!
VFC has been on fire after setting a new 52-week low on Sept. 22, climbing close to 12% in that span, including a 5% pop on Tuesday. Even the institutional traders are fans with bulls buying over 3,000 contracts of the Nov. 19 expiration $75 strike calls for a cool $700,000 in premium!
The options cover both Friday’s retail sales report and the company’s earnings date on Oct. 22.
And if Korean TV shows aren’t your thing, I have four more top trades waiting for you from some of my favorite sectors…
- MGM Resorts Int’l. (MGM): Oct. 29 $47 CALL.
- Kohl’s Corp. (NYSE: KSS): Oct. 29 $47 CALL.
