Defensive Stocks Deliver Another Triple-Digit Winner for Blitz Daily!

by | Sep 8, 2021 | Uncategorized

Defensive stock strategies have been on fire the past year-plus…

Boom! Just like that, the Blitz Tracker does it again, delivering more amazing gains for Weekly Blitz Alerts members…

And Blitz Daily readers, too!

Back on Sept. 1, my scanner picked up heavy repeat call buying in Albertsons Companies Inc. (NYSE: ACI).

This defensive stock has had insane momentum the past several weeks, with share prices soaring 65% since June 8….

The big swingers were loving it, they wanted more and snatched up more than 2,500 contracts in the Sept. 17 expiration $31 strike calls, spending more than $250,000 in premium.

That volume spike prompted an alert to Blitz members, earning a mention in the Blitz Daily’s top flow of the day

And the traders who took advantage of this defensive stock strategy had the chance to land a triple-digit payday!

Defensive Stock Strategies Continue to Crush the Pandemic

After the bell that Wednesday, discount grocer Costco Wholesale Corp. (Nasdaq: COST) reported a 16% increase in net sales for August.

This solid industry news riled up the bulls, giving a lift to notable grocery chains — and the defensive stock strategies trading them.

Trading volume for ACI nearly tripled to 3.4 million shares, spiking the stock price over 9.5% on the day…

And the ensuing three-day rally sent those call options screaming to the upside!

Blitz members exited on Sept. 2 for a 73.6% gain overnight, but traders with a larger appetite for risk had the opportunity to bag a 306% return through the rally!

With markets trading at or near record highs in the midst of a pandemic threatening the economy, it’s not hard to make the case for defensive stock strategies.

This approach has consistently found big winners through the crisis with companies like Costco gaining over 60% from its March 2020 lows, and Albertsons catapulting 125% higher from its June 2020 IPO.

With the delta variant throwing a wrench in a full reopening, millions of shoppers are likely to continue eating at home for the foreseeable future…

Which will give traders plenty of profit opportunities on stocks in the sector, including The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) — which is set to report earnings before Friday’s open.

Check out the quick video to hear my thoughts on these stocks along with two others in the sector, and keep your eyes on the Blitz Daily because the next monster gain could hit at any time!

99 Problems and a “Pivot” is One

A friend of mine sent me this chart about three months ago. I should probably print it and keep it in my wallet next to a photo of my daughter. Given the sheer number of questions I’ve fielded lately, I’ll probably end up showing this chart more than her picture.

Everything Everywhere, Going Down, All At Once

When our momentum reading went negative last week, I didn’t know that we’d have the second largest bank failure in U.S. history three days later. All I knew was that it went negative… and that we got out of the way.

I want to talk about our version of “Trust but Verify” in the markets. Qualification is the most important part of the investing process. And this F score value strategy looks to be crushing the current market.
