In Thursday’s Blitz Daily with Lance Ippolito, we take a look at blue-chip oil company BP as the energy sector continues to outperform.
January was a brutal month in the markets… But while most sectors were getting their booties handed to them, energy stocks were cleaning up. Just take a look at the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (NYSE Arca: XLE), up nearly 18% so far in 2022!
And with tech back on shaky ground, we’re seeing loads of institutional flow into lower-beta energy names.
One name hitting the tape Thursday is BP as traders look for oil to march higher in the near term.
Big buyers were blasting the Feb. 25 $32 strike call options, with one trader grabbing over 1,900 contracts for more than $132,000 in premium!

- Digital Turbine Inc. (Nasdaq: APPS): Feb 11 $42 PUT.
- Callaway Golf Co. (NYSE: ELY): Feb.18 $24 CALL.
