I’m back today with another after-hours earnings, monster gain extravaganza!
Last week I held a special session of my Weekly Blitz Alerts Live Trade Room, and if you saw Monday’s piece, then you know we booked our biggest trade of the year so far — a ridiculous 925% overnight win on Snap Inc. (NYSE:SNAP)!
That’s a record that could stand for a while…
But that doesn’t mean we’re not trying to knock it off its pedestal with each and every trade!
And we gave that SNAP trade a run for its money this week!
In Wednesday’s trade room, we took a look at big order flow hitting one of my favorite targets — Pinterest Inc. (NYSE: PINS) — and the results on this PINS earnings play were nothing short of spectacular!
A Quick 455% on This Massive Pinterest Earnings Play
If you’re not familiar with PINS, it’s a social media site where people share photos of things they like — food, furniture, clothing and all that jazz. It’s probably responsible for the theme of the last wedding you went to.
Well, my Blitz Tracker spotted the bears making several big moves in the PINS August monthly puts.
With market makers implying around an $8.00 move and earnings set for after hours on Thursday, we took a shot on a Pinterest earnings play with the July 30 $72 puts at $2.25 per contract.
The pop culture powerhouse reported earnings after the bell on Thursday, and it was… not great.
The company beat earnings and revenue, but PINS showed a 5% decline in daily active users (DAU). Struggling user growth has sparked several tech sell-offs of late. We saw sentiment turn on both Twitter Inc. (NYSE: TWTR) and Facebook Inc. (Nasdaq: FB) last week after posting weak DAU numbers.
Pinterest was punished harder than most. Share prices sank around 18% in after-hours sessions, helping our weekly options escape gravity and open at $12.50 for a spectacular 455% gain from our Pinterest earnings play in just two days!
There’s no season like earnings season, and this is proving to be the best yet for Weekly Blitz Alerts!
