Another week is in the books, which means it’s time to take stock of what worked and get ready for the week ahead with the latest New Money Crew Weekend Watchlist!
There’s been some chop, but markets have held up after last week’s impressive rally.
A lot of people might look at the indexes and think the market makers must be taking some pain with everything up… But they’d be wrong.
For the past several weeks, you’ve heard me complain about sky-high implied volatility and expensive options premiums…
Well, one of the side effects of markets rising is volatility comes down — along with options prices.
But even though the market makers are stacking the deck against retail traders, our New Money Crew strategies have put more trades in the win column!
On top of the wins, traders who joined me for the special open house session Thursday in my War Room saw some mega trades hit the wire in real time!
About 20 minutes after markets opened, the Blitz Tracker spotted one trader sweeping up about 1,300 contracts of the May 20, $5.50 Tellurian Inc. (NYSE American: TELL) calls trading around $0.45.
Shares of the natural gas name jumped as high as 15.4% in early trading Friday, helping those calls reach $0.99 — BANG!
It just goes to show that even in tricky markets like this, there are still big movers out there…
We just have to be ready to pounce when they show up.
That’s why I’ve put more names together traders need to have on their radar heading into Monday with a new installment of the New Money Crew Weekend Watchlist!
New Money Crew Weekend Watchlist: March 25, 2022
Semiconductor names were strong this week for New Money Crew, with Weekend Watchlist member Nvidia Corp. (Nasdaq: NVDA) making a monster 9% move Thursday.
It even helped spike Intel Corp. (Nasdaq: INTC), a bonus trade idea we gave to New Money Minute readers.
Chip-makers made up ground this week but are still a long way off of their record highs. There’s no shortage of massive bullish order flow into the sector, as well as a catalyst event next week with Micron Technology Inc. (Nasdaq: MU) earnings on Tuesday.
As long as markets can avoid unexpected bad news, there’s no reason for this trend to slow down… So keep your eyes on names like NVDA and Marvell Technology Inc. (Nasdaq: MRVL).
One of the other big movers we saw hit the tape during Thursday’s open house was Nordstrom Inc. (NYSE: JWN)...
Just 10 minutes after the TELL buy crossed the tape, another buyer snagged around 1,500 contracts of the April 14, $27 strike calls at about $1.15 per contract. Those calls reached as high as $1.67 Friday — you’ve got to love it!
If you’ve been around New Money Crew or reading our Weekend Watchlist long, then you know I love my retail stocks.
Consumer Discretionary was one of several sectors that was punished in the most recent downturn, and Nordstrom is one of my favorite stocks to trade.
The company crushed its earnings call back on March 1 thanks to strong forward guidance.
The company expects to see earnings of $3.15 to $3.50 per share this year — blowing away analyst estimates of about $2 per share.
Couple that with the bullish order flow we’re seeing, and that earns it a spot on this New Money Crew Weekend Watchlist.
Moves like we saw with TELL and JWN serve as an example why trading institutional order flow live in real time is such a powerful tool.
We see those trades hit seconds after the order is filled, giving the traders who know how to spot them a unique edge over the rest of the market.
And I’m going LIVE again Friday, May 25, at 2:30 p.m. EDT for a special Wiretap Alerts Accelerator Class to hunt for more massive order flow ahead of the weekend.
I’ll see you there!
P.S. No one wants to work Saturday and Sunday, we get it…
Traders from Wall Street to home offices grind it out Monday through Friday, just waiting for the weekend.
But here’s a secret…
They’re neglecting the fact that money may be up for grabs.
And I discovered a rinse-and-repeat plan that anyone with a cell phone and a brokerage account can take advantage of, even on a weekly basis.
Don’t waste the weekend!
