My Top ETF and Option as GDP Misses BIG

by | Apr 28, 2022 | Market Updates

Nasdaq futures are up, boosted by a 15% gain in Meta Platforms following a mixed earnings report — and more in Thursday’s stock market recap.

Meta Platforms Inc. (Nasdaq: FB) missed on revenue but reported better-than-expected earnings and key engagement metrics, which sent shares soaring as high as $206 in premarket trading.

Twitter Inc. (NYSE: TWTR) reported earnings before the bell Thursday morning, possibly for its last time as a public company.

Revenue was slightly below estimates while monetizable daily active users exceeded expectations. Shares rose 1% to about $49 a share, still $5 below Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s cash offer of $54.20.

In addition to earnings, we also had the gross domestic product report, which came in well below estimates at minus 1.4% for the quarter.

This sent bond yields higher and in the video above, I’ll explain more about the relationship between bonds and GDP.

In this morning’s stock market recap video, you’ll discover why I believe tech is oversold… earnings and their impact on stocks… a deep dive into market internals… plus my top sector ETF with an option and strike price levels.

Each Thursday, I’ll combine two of my favorite things into a big-money opportunity: options plays and ETFs. Using options, we can turn momentum analysis of a specific sector — or even an entire country’s stock market — into an actionable trade with double- or triple-digit upside potential. I’ll give you all the details you need to execute this plan.

99 Problems and a “Pivot” is One

A friend of mine sent me this chart about three months ago. I should probably print it and keep it in my wallet next to a photo of my daughter. Given the sheer number of questions I’ve fielded lately, I’ll probably end up showing this chart more than her picture.

Everything Everywhere, Going Down, All At Once

When our momentum reading went negative last week, I didn’t know that we’d have the second largest bank failure in U.S. history three days later. All I knew was that it went negative… and that we got out of the way.
