The S&P 500 Is at a MAJOR Crossroads and 2 Actionable Ideas

by | Apr 6, 2022 | Market Updates

U.S. stock futures are down big Wednesday as investors prepare for the Federal Reserve to pursue even more aggressive interest rate hikes — and more in Wednesday’s stock market recap.

The bond market also headed lower Wednesday morning. This means rates are set to go higher, which will put more pressure on stocks. And that’s a big part of the reason why the market fell apart Tuesday and opened lower Wednesday.

Investors await the minutes from the most recent Federal Open Market Committee meeting, which should shed more light on the Fed’s stance toward future rate hikes.

The market seems to be reacting to higher interest rates more than the war, meaning the war has been priced in for the most part.

In this morning’s stock market recap video, you’ll learn whether the market is reverting lower or about to bounce back higher… which sector is holding on the best… what market internals are telling us right now… whether the Fed is going to take major action next month… an update on the bond market and its breakdown… the top stock for upside opportunity… and the bottom stock for downside opportunity.

99 Problems and a “Pivot” is One

A friend of mine sent me this chart about three months ago. I should probably print it and keep it in my wallet next to a photo of my daughter. Given the sheer number of questions I’ve fielded lately, I’ll probably end up showing this chart more than her picture.

Everything Everywhere, Going Down, All At Once

When our momentum reading went negative last week, I didn’t know that we’d have the second largest bank failure in U.S. history three days later. All I knew was that it went negative… and that we got out of the way.
