My Top Long and Short Trade Ideas as Market Approaches Critical Levels

Fears of a recession and longer-than-expected rate hiking cycles from the Federal Reserve continue to weigh on the markets — and more in Wednesday’s stock market recap.

Worried the Fed won’t be able to curb inflation and avoid a recession, investors are concerned about the possibility of an economic downturn in 2023.

CEOs from several top companies — such as JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE: JPM) CEO Jamie Dimon and Walmart Inc. (NYSE: WMT) CEO Doug McMillion — weighed in on the possibility of a recession Tuesday on CNBC.

Dimon said the current global crises and continued rate hikes “may well derail the economy and cause this mild to hard recession that people are worried about.”
