Biggest Day of the Quarter! Get Ready for Volatility on Fed News

by | May 4, 2022 | Market Updates

U.S. stock futures are up ahead of the Federal Reserve’s announcement following its two-day meeting — and more in Wednesday’s stock market recap.

It’s expected that the Fed will raise interest rates 50 basis points to fight inflation, which is already priced into the bond market.

If the Fed goes ahead with a 0.50% hike, we should see a relief rally… But if it decides on a more-aggressive 75-basis-point hike, things are going to get ugly.

Earnings season continues with Moderna Inc. (Nasdaq: MRNA) exceeding revenue and profit expectations, sending shares up 4% in premarket trading.

CVS Health Corp. (NYSE: CVS) also rose about 1.5% premarket on better-than-expected earnings and revenue.

In this morning’s stock market recap video, you’ll learn how the market will react to the latest Fed data… whether stocks are set to rise or fall… an update on the bond market and the most likely scenario ahead… whether volatility is rising or falling, and its impact on stocks… an update on the global economy and how it’s impacting stocks… plus my top long and short trades complete with options strike prices.

P.S. May 4… All Hell Breaks Loose… Or Markets Soar?

The Federal Reserve is expected to make a major move on May 4

If it raises rates 0.75%… will all hell break loose?

If it only raises 0.25%… will markets soar?

No matter what happens, stocks are going to MOVE… big time!

And traders MUST be prepared to take advantage!

Former $700 million hedge fund manager Jeff Zananiri is preparing for the massive moves ahead.

Here’s How

P.P.S. When it comes to trading, every second counts. And in choppy markets like these, often driven by headlines, stocks can make big moves in a flash.

99 Problems and a “Pivot” is One

A friend of mine sent me this chart about three months ago. I should probably print it and keep it in my wallet next to a photo of my daughter. Given the sheer number of questions I’ve fielded lately, I’ll probably end up showing this chart more than her picture.

Everything Everywhere, Going Down, All At Once

When our momentum reading went negative last week, I didn’t know that we’d have the second largest bank failure in U.S. history three days later. All I knew was that it went negative… and that we got out of the way.
