1 Long, 3 Short Plays Ahead of Wednesday’s FOMC Major Rate News

by | Nov 2, 2022 | Market Updates

The major indexes are mixed ahead of the Federal Reserve’s upcoming interest rate announcement — and more in Wednesday’s stock market recap.

The Fed is expected to raise rates another 0.75% as it grapples with stubbornly high inflation. Investors will pay close attention to the Fed’s remarks for any signs that it’s planning to slow the pace of its hikes going forward… This is key to how the market will react because the 75-basis-point hike is likely already priced in.

Meanwhile, the jobs market remains strong, with 239,000 private payrolls added in October, according to the ADP employment report. This exceeds estimates of 195,000 and September’s 192,000. Wages also increased 7.7% on an annual basis.

In this morning’s stock market recap video, I’ll discuss my expectation for the Fed and what I’m looking for… why I believe blue chips are overdone compared to tech, and likely due to cool off… how sector fragmentation needs to resolve itself… an update on the global economy and how it’s impacting our stocks… the top stock to buy right now and the bottom three to sell!

P.S. Introducing the Quantum Indicator

What I’m about to share may be the most impactful discovery in the history of WealthPress…

On Oct. 8, 2022, an entirely new way to enter and exit trades came to life.

I call it the “Quantum Indicator.”

I’m so excited about this new indicator, I’m holding a special live training event at 1 p.m. EDT TODAY, Nov. 2, where I’ll show you how to install and even use the Quantum Indicator.

And the best part is… it doesn’t cost a thing to attend!

99 Problems and a “Pivot” is One

A friend of mine sent me this chart about three months ago. I should probably print it and keep it in my wallet next to a photo of my daughter. Given the sheer number of questions I’ve fielded lately, I’ll probably end up showing this chart more than her picture.

Everything Everywhere, Going Down, All At Once

When our momentum reading went negative last week, I didn’t know that we’d have the second largest bank failure in U.S. history three days later. All I knew was that it went negative… and that we got out of the way.
