Dead-Cat Bounce or Real Reversal? Plus My Top Sector, Option Play

by | Sep 29, 2022 | Market Updates

The major indexes headed lower, looking to give back some of Wednesday’s gains — and more in Thursday’s stock market recap.

We got the gross domestic product report Thursday morning, and one of the numbers came in better than expected.

The quarter-over-quarter annual rate met consensus estimates and the previous quarter’s number of a 0.6% contraction.

While it would’ve been a good sign to see that number come in a little bit stronger, I was most concerned with how personal consumption expenditures held up, because this is the number that indicates whether or not people are spending more.

And personal consumption expenditures did not disappoint! The number came in at 2%, above both the estimate of 1.5% and the range of 1.5-1.7%, indicating there’s still strength to be found among consumers.

In this morning’s stock market recap video, I’ll discuss how to position yourself and where to find the best opportunities in the market right now… where the biggest risk is… how to interpret current momentum data… the key levels in the Dow and S&P 500… whether this is a dead-cat bounce or a real reversal… plus my top sector and option pick!

P.S. EXPOSED: Biggest Financial Opportunity I’ve Ever Seen

I just exposed what could be the biggest financial opportunity I’ve ever seen…

In any market… any asset… any sector… anywhere!

This phenomenon has shown the potential to pay out 11 times the S&P 500’s returns within five years.*

And it’s all possible thanks to a rare event that’s only played out FOUR times during the past century.

Look, I’ve made some pretty big predictions during my 28 years trading markets…

But nothing, and I mean NOTHING so far compares to what you’re about to see…

See What It Is Here

P.P.S. When it comes to trading, every second counts. And in choppy markets like these, often driven by headlines, stocks can make big moves in a flash.

That’s why I want you to get my latest trading ideas and market updates as fast as possible. So I’m rolling out an all-new option for my students to receive trade alerts with Telegram!

Telegram allows me to get trade ideas, videos and watchlists to you in a matter of seconds.

Check out this short article we put together with instructions on how to download telegram and access my private channel. Go here to get the details.

Each Thursday, I’ll combine two of my favorite things into a big-money opportunity: options plays and ETFs. Using options, we can turn momentum analysis of a specific sector — or even an entire country’s stock market — into an actionable trade with double- or triple-digit upside potential. I’ll give you all the details you need to execute this plan.

99 Problems and a “Pivot” is One

A friend of mine sent me this chart about three months ago. I should probably print it and keep it in my wallet next to a photo of my daughter. Given the sheer number of questions I’ve fielded lately, I’ll probably end up showing this chart more than her picture.

Everything Everywhere, Going Down, All At Once

When our momentum reading went negative last week, I didn’t know that we’d have the second largest bank failure in U.S. history three days later. All I knew was that it went negative… and that we got out of the way.
