Bearish Traders Dig Their Claws Into Struggling Retail, Tech Names

by | May 18, 2022 | Options

In Wednesday’s Blitz Daily with Lance Ippolito, we take a look at Sabre Corp as tech stocks see strong selling.

The stock Market is a bloody mess Wednesday as the Nasdaq and S&P 500 continue to sell off with barely a green candle in sight.

Stockholders are feeling a lot of pain, which is why it pays to stay nimble and trade in and out of positions in a volatile market like this.

That mercenary mentality has saved my bacon over the past few sessions, especially with the monster breakdowns we’re seeing in retail in names like Target Inc. (NYSE: TGT) and Walmart Inc. (NYSE: WMT).

On top of retail names taking a dive, we’re also seeing massive sell-offs in junk growth stocks across the tape.

Shares of travel software firm Sabre Crop. added another 4% drop on Wednesday to an almost 30% one-month decline.. And the bears are hungry for more downside!

The Blitz Tracker spotted institutional buyers scoop up around 4,500 of the June 17 expiration, $6 strike puts for more than $160,000…

And that’s just a taste of the flood of downside plays hitting the tape Wednesday…

    • Ulta Beauty Inc. (Nasdaq: ULTA): Sept. 16, $355 PUT.
    • Sabre Corp. (Nasdaq: SABR): June 17, $6 PUT.
    • FuboTV Inc. (NYSE: FUBO): June. 17, $10 PUT.
    • Pinterest Inc. (NYSE: PINS): Nov. 18, $22.50 CALL.
    • Ross Stores Inc. (Nasdaq: ROST): May 20, $94 PUT.

Check out my short video and I’ll break down the day’s most unusual options order flow in no time flat!

P.S. I’ll be up front — I need your help.

My team and I have been working on a brand-new trading indicator for the better part of a year…

We’ve code-named this initiative Project X.

But before we roll it out as a full-blown trading strategy, we need to make sure the system is as rock solid as we believe it to be…

And I’m looking for around 100 traders interested in beta testing this new indicator over the next couple of months.

For more details, I’m holding a live demonstration of Project X at 1 p.m. EDT on Thursday, May 19.

Blitz Daily With Lance Ippolitto

At Weekly Blitz Alerts, we like to print money, baby! I know, I know, you’re probably thinking, “Lance, how do we do that? Print money? Come on…”

But in all seriousness, we follow the big fish and what they’re buying. And we do that with my proprietary Blitz Tracker, which alerts me to big, institutional options order flow throughout the day. Then we get in on these plays and follow the “smart money.”

By doing this, we cash in whether the broader market is going up, down or sideways.

The Blitz Daily with Lance Ippolito is where I go over a handful of options trades that hit my Blitz Tracker each day, Monday through Thursday. I will break down the trade with the sexiest order flow and tell you exactly what I think can happen with that stock by the next day’s opening bell.

If you want in on these fast-moving options plays, with entry, exit and profit targets sent directly to you via text and email alerts, be sure to sign up for Weekly Blitz Alerts!

In the meantime, you can follow me @LanceIppolito on Twitter, Instagram and our YouTube channel for more trading insights and tips. And as always, you can find me right here talking stocks and options trading — and printing money — on WealthPress.com!

99 Problems and a “Pivot” is One

A friend of mine sent me this chart about three months ago. I should probably print it and keep it in my wallet next to a photo of my daughter. Given the sheer number of questions I’ve fielded lately, I’ll probably end up showing this chart more than her picture.

Everything Everywhere, Going Down, All At Once

When our momentum reading went negative last week, I didn’t know that we’d have the second largest bank failure in U.S. history three days later. All I knew was that it went negative… and that we got out of the way.
