The major indices are poised to open sharply higher as Russia pulls some of its troops back from its border with Ukraine — and more in Tuesday’s stock market recap.
The Nasdaq and Dow are up 200 and 300 points respectively, with the S&P 500 up about 50. Remember, the S&P 500 is made up of stocks that are also in the Nasdaq and Dow, so when those two indices rise, they typically pull the S&P 500 up, as well.
The markets had already priced in the worst regarding the potential for war between Russia and Ukraine, so any further easing of the tension should cause the markets to bounce higher.
We also have the Producers Price Index data coming out on Tuesday, which will tell us how much supply chain issues and inflation are affecting producers. This will be followed by retail sales on Wednesday, showing the situation from the consumer side.
In this morning’s stock market recap video, you’ll learn the likelihood of whether or not Russia and Ukraine will get into a war… the top levels for the major indices… the top stocks to watch… plus an inside look at the major sectors, including the top and bottom sectors and stocks.

I’ve known Markay for a while now, and she’s one of the most successful chart traders and stock pickers I know!
I don’t think anyone else could have convinced me to overcome my questions about gap trade setups.
But Markay recently showed me her 120 Rebound strategy… and it blew me away!
