The major indexes are flat as investors await the Fed’s next interest rate announcement at 2 p.m. ET.
The Fed is expected to deliver a 0.50% rate hike following four straight 0.75% rate hikes. But what investors will be most keen to hear are Fed Chair Jerome Powell’s forward-looking comments.
The market has been sensitive to Powell’s guidance this year, with stocks sharply rising or falling in response to his dovish or hawkish sentiment.
