Small Caps Send Clear Signal With Interest Rate News Coming Wednesday

by | Mar 15, 2022 | Market Updates

The markets are up as oil prices drop and investors continue to monitor the war between Russia and Ukraine while also waiting for news on a potential Federal Reserve interest rate hike on Wednesday — and more in Tuesday’s stock market recap.

The Federal Open Market Committee meeting starts Tuesday to discuss the upcoming rate hike. Normally, in times of war, the Fed wouldn’t raise rates, but we’ll know more on its plans on Wednesday.

We also have rising COVID-19 cases in China as the country grapples with its worst outbreak since the early days of the pandemic. The outbreak caused the shutdown of several major manufacturing hubs, which promises to bring more pain to supply chain issues.

The bond market has been steadily falling, and seems to have priced in higher rates. However, the Fed could decide to wait another month to see how all of these events play out.

In this morning’s stock market recap video, you’ll learn which sector continues to lead and why… what small caps are telling us about current market levels… why I’m increasingly bullish on U.S. stocks… how to trade the current market… an update on the bond market with specific price levels… and the top three stocks in the S&P 500.

99 Problems and a “Pivot” is One

A friend of mine sent me this chart about three months ago. I should probably print it and keep it in my wallet next to a photo of my daughter. Given the sheer number of questions I’ve fielded lately, I’ll probably end up showing this chart more than her picture.
